Powder coating
A dry powder of pigment and resin, sprayed on with an electrostatic charge and cured in an oven. It goes on evenly with no runs, drips or sags, and stands up to chips, scratches, heat, UV, fuel, oil and chemicals far better than ordinary paint. Threads, machined surfaces and fine details are masked first.
Cerakote
A thin ceramic-based finish for smaller items that need precision and detail, such as firearms, knives and small accessories, and for parts that run hot, like exhaust. Tough against wear, scratches and chemicals.
Sandblasting
Media blasting with garnet, aluminum oxide, crushed glass or iron grit. It strips old paint, powder, rust and corrosion and etches the surface, which is what gives a new coat something to grip. Available on its own or before coating.
